My Mindful Automated Life

I live alone and I work a lot so every labor saving device is a boon. Cleaning the house is never fun, that is why I invested in a Roomba, a robot vacuum cleaner. Every morning at 9 am after I have left for work, it zooms about the house cleaning up dust, navigating floors and carpet nicely.  Meanwhile my Scooba washes the kitchen floor. My house has never been cleaner.  My light switches turn lights on and off.  according to schedules so the light is always on when I return home after dark, off while I am away.  I have a random turn on and off device to give the appearance I am home at different times of the day.  I have it set by the TV so it can come as something of a surprise to go off or on in the middle of a movie. My motion detector outside come son as I exit the car – previously I exited the car and stumbled around feeling my way to the back door then spent another several minutes trying to eyeball the lock and key to find my way into the house. I wake to and come home to Itunes music.  My home alarm</a> system I can operate from a key chain, but better still from my iPhone.  I can arm and disarm the system from another city.  When I get my camera set up I can check what is going on in the house from my iPhone retrieving video clips.
